Edmond^[1] (or Edmund^[2]) Halley, FRS (pronoonced /ˈɛdmənd ˈhæli/;^[3]^[4] 8 November 1656 – 25 Januar 1742) wis an Inglis astronomer, geopheesicist, mathematician, meteorologist, an pheesicist wha is best kent for computin the orbit o the eponymous Halley's Comet. He wis the seicont Astronomer Royal in Breetain, succeedin John Flamsteed.
