Charles Melton is an American actor. He portrays Reggie Mantle from Season 2 onward of The CW's Riverdale. He replaced Ross Butler in the role.

  • Charles Melton said he wasn't supposed to base his Reggie off of the first season. "Based off of this storyline and what the previous actor did, [Reggie] wasn't really established, so it opened up an opportunity for me to put my own spin on things", he told Insider, and that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wanted him to do his own thing.[1]
  • Melton did his own research on the iconic Archie Comics character and came up with a way to play the high school jock and prankster.[1]
  • When cast for the role, Melton suffered backlash from some fans on social media. He didn't pay much attention to it, however.[2]
  • On August 24, 2018, Charles began dating Camila Mendes[3], but on December 4, 2019, the couple decided to take a break from their relationship.
