Warren, Bernardsville Food Markets To Close Next Week
Liquidation sales started Thursday at both stores with everything 50 percent off, except milk, cigarettes, and gift cards.
WARREN, NJ — Sadly, the Warren and Bernardsville locations of the Kings Food Markets will be permanently closing. Both locations will close on or before Jan. 23, said Kim Yorio, spokeswoman for Kings.
Beginning Thursday, liquidation sales will be going on at both locations with everything 50 percent off except milk, cigarettes, and gift cards.
Acme Markets, Inc. will be finalizing its purchase of 19 Kings locations on Jan. 23 — this does not include the Warren and Bernardsville. Since the deal did not include the Warren and Bernardsville locations and they were unable to find a new buyer they will permanently close.

Yorio said Kings was unable to find a new grocery store for the locations and it is now up to the landlord to see what will replace the stores.
As for the employees at the Warren and Bernardsville locations, there are no placements available at other Kings locations, said Yorio.

The other 19 Kings stores that were sold to Acme will continue to operate under the Kings name, Yorio said.
Some of those stores include Bedminster Township, Morristown, and Whitehouse Station.
