Kings Hoboken South Grocery Store To Shut In December

The market, open on Thanksgiving, will close for good in "a couple of weeks," a spokesperson said. The Hoboken North store will remain open.

HOBOKEN, NJ — One of two Kings supermarkets in Hoboken will close some time next month, a spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday evening.

"Kings has made a decision to close the store," said a spokesperson, regarding the Hoboken South store at 325 River St. "The process will begin by closing for inventory on Monday and Tuesday. The store will reopen Wednesday with a 50 percent off sale. The store will be open for a couple of weeks."

She added, "All employees will be offered positions in other Kings stores."

The Hoboken North store in the Shipyard development will remain open.

The company that owns Kings filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August.
