At the age of 7, she joined an acting school affiliated with a theater company because she wanted to change her shy personality. She made her acting debut on TV in 1980 in the drama "Tadaima Hokago". One year later, she started to gain popularity playing the female lead in the drama "Tonda Rival" in 1981. She made her singing debut on April 21, 1984 and was nominated in various newcomer awards.
