  • Veteran's Day Services

    November 6, 2024 in ceremony

    On Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2024, the Linden Veteran’s Council will be honoring “Our Veteran’s”. Residents are encouraged to attend the Veteran’s Grave and Wreath Placement Ceremony. The American Legion Post 102 will be the host post. In attendance will also be the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1397, Marine Corp League, Catholic War Veterans and Vietnam Veterans of America.

    • What: Veteran’s Day Services. The Linden Veteran’s Council will be honoring “Our Veteran’s.” Residents are encouraged to attend the Veteran’s Grave and Wreath Placement Ceremony.
    • When & Where: Assemble at 8:30am at the Linden American Legion Post #112, which is located at 112 West Elizabeth Avenue. Program will conclude at 12pm. Residents are invited to meet the Veterans entourage at a specific Monument listed in the event schedule or to join the Veterans escorted entourage from the American Legion Hall to visit all the City Monuments.

  • Fourth Annual Rec's-Giving

    November 6, 2024 in Parks & Recreation

    Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden and the Department of Parks & Recreation invite you to attend the fourth annual Rec’s-Giving! Meals will be grab-and-go.

    • What: Rec’s-Giving. Providing dinner on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. One dinner per person. Meals will be grab-and-go.
    • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
    • When: Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1pm.

  • Parks Open Space Conservation Master Plan – Public Meetings

    Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation invites you, our community, to come out and share your ideas on how the City can improve and conserve its 37 parks and 258 acres of open space for residents to enjoy for years to come.

    • What: Parks Open Space Conservation Master Plan. The City of Linden invites you, our community, to come out and share your ideas on how the City can improve and conserve its 37 parks and 258 acres of open space for residents to enjoy for years to come. Ward residents of the scheduled meetings are encouraged to attend. During the months of November and December, we will host public meetings to discuss your ward parks and open spaces. A municipal wide Park Master Plan creates a road map inclusive of community input for city administrators to follow, when short, mid and long term park improvements plans are discussed. Come and be heard. Additional ward discussion will be scheduled at later dates. Hope to see you there, limited light refreshments will be served.
    • When: All meetings will be from 6pm until 7:30pm

  • Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway for 200 Linden Families in Need

    Mayor Derek Armstead and the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services is proudly hosting a Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway for 200 Linden families in need. Complete the form below to register for the 2024 Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway. Supplies are given on a first come, first serve basis.

    Pickup

    • Proof of Linden Residency is Required.
    • Registration deadline is November 22, 2024.
    • Pickup is on Monday, November 25, from 12pm until 6pm.
    • Pickup is at the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.

  • Public Works Schedule Change Alert

    Please note the Department of Public Works (DPW) upcoming schedule change from November 4 through November 8, 2024, for Election Day. Click here to view and/or download the Public Works modified schedule for November, 2024.

    • No Collections
      • Election Day – Tuesday, November 5, 2024 – the Department of Public Works (DPW) will be closed. The Recycling Center and DPW yard bulk drop-off will also be closed. This closure will facilitate the following changes to your collection schedule.
    • Recyclable Bottles and Cans Collection
      • Monday, November 4 – Recycling (blue carts) in Districts 1, 2, 3, 9, 10. No Change.
      • Wednesday, November 6 – Recycling (blue carts) in Districts 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
    • Sanitation Collections
      • Thursday, November 7 – Sanitation (green carts) in Districts 1, 2, 3, 9, and 10.
      • Friday, November 8 – Sanitation (green carts) in Districts 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
    • There will be no bagged leaves collection or bulk trash collection this week.
