Delaware Workforce Development Board 3-Year Strategic Overview

  1. Prioritize Sectors – Delaware will invest in training workers for the sectors that have high growth and high demand and will make the greatest impact.
  2. Raise the Bar – Delaware will increase the educational attainment to 60% of the working-age population attaining a post-secondary credential. This includes apprenticeships, certifications, credentials, and degrees.
  3. Increase Alignment – Delaware will break down barriers between training/learning and work. We will help bridge the gap between training/education, the needs of employers, and our future workforce.
  4. Expand Opportunity – Educational and economic equity is foundational to the health of our state. Today opportunity is unfairly distributed. Our goal is to dramatically reduce the gaps that exist today based on race and ethnicity.
