The hotel is conveniently located near the metro, restaurants, and districts like Minhang and Pudong CBD as well as People's Square. the rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and clean, with good service and a nice breakfast selection. Plus, there is a patisserie with tasty desserts and good restaurant choices.
Some areas of the hotel may still smell like smoke due to Chinese smoking culture.

I stay at the Jianguo the last fouur years most of the times I am in Shanghai. All in this hotel are good including the location and the flexibility to move everywhere in Shanghai.
My only compaint during my stay is that they have considerably limited the smoking area in the lobby restaurant and bar and this is real uncomfortable. This time the room was a little noisy due to the lift being three rooms away. All the others excellent as usual.

I stayed at a 4-star hotel in an exciting district with a great location. The hotel was just a short walk from the subway entrance, making it convenient to explore the area. There were plenty of nice restaurants, bars, and food stores around the corner, so I never had to worry about finding a place to eat. The staff at this hotel were very polite and attentive to my needs, and the concierge service was top-notch. They even let me have a shower before my evening flight, even though I had already checked out in the morning. The wifi signal was strong throughout the hotel, which was a plus for me as I needed to stay connected.

Excellent location, right next to an underground station. The rooms are clean, and I had a room at the back which was very quiet. The japanese / asian dinner buffet is not good; it's great!
Some of the staff could be a little more friendly, as is often the case in Chinese hotels, but overall it's okay. The shower in my room had very low water pressure, which shouldn't happen in a hotel like this. The coffee at breakfast is awful: it only had the color, but no taste at all.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The cleanliness was satisfactory, and the hotel facilities were good. We liked the hotel's convenient location as it was near everything we needed. The hotel was situated in a "nice" area, and it was easy to get around by subway. It was only a two-minute walk to the subway station, and the XuJiaHui subway station was a hub of three subway lines. We appreciated the variety of food offered for breakfast, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Couldn't stay longer.

Great bed and free shoe polishing. The hotel had a wonderful bed and comfortable pillows, which made my stay very relaxing. Additionally, I loved the complimentary shoe polishing service. The hotel's location was also superb because it had easy access to transportation and great nearby attractions.
Terrible internet and unfriendly staff. The internet connection was horrendously slow and unstable, which was very frustrating. Furthermore, the staff was unapproachable and seemed like they didn't want to be there. the customer service was lacking and left a negative impression on my stay.
