The unit was spotlessly clean and budget.
It was in a very central setting close to the metro system. Spent our evenings in nearby El Tigre enjoying drinks and atmosphere. The room we had included an electronic key card, a work desk, and a TV set.

Fairly clean property with excellent and efficient staff at reception desk. Excellent location in the center of Madrid, in the perfectly safe area. Again, walking distance to Prado National Museum.

The best things about Hostal Lisboa were its location and air-conditioning.
Although the rooms were quite clean and tidy, the first impression of the room was bit of a shock. I would recommend the hostal for backpackers who do not spend lot of time in the rooms. However the air-conditioning was a big plus. Also not everybody in the staff spoke English. Luckily this didn't cause any problems.

The Hostal building was cool despite the very high temperatures and the room was both cool and quiet. It's position is excellent for the city, being within walking distance of the 3 main museums, Atocha Station and the Palace.

The location is great! A couple of friends stayed at a hotel 5 min walk closer to Sol and payed double for a smaller and worse room. The staff, I believe is a family and there are not so many rooms so that makes a nice feeling while staying. They will do their best to make your stay great.
One of the staff did not know english, however, she did a lot to compensate on that. My room had poor or no wifi signal and i needed to work. it didn't take long to convience the non-speaking lady to move me to a room with better signal and she even gave me a bigger balcony room at no additional cost.

This hotel was in an excellent location being quite close to a metro stop and just walking distance from multiple sights around the city. The front desk had a ton of maps of the metro line and city to help the navigation. There were restaurants right on the same street as the hotel, including an amazing mexican one two doors away. The workers tried their best to communicate in English to us and most did very well, extremely helpful!
Entering the room it looked pretty run-down but the location made it worth the stay. The double bed was pretty small even for us two girls. The shower was extremely small as well. The internet worked in our room the first few days then stopped so we had to sit in the hallway to get any connection.
