Social Justice through Solidarity: Cultivating Solidarity within Feminist Economics

33rd IAFFE Annual Conference | July 3-5, 2025

Submission Deadline: November 17, 2024

Solidarity is a value that is central to feminist economics, but its role is not always explicit. This theme challenges us to consider how we might use solidarity to advance social justice through feminist economics. Reflecting on solidarity opens up new questions for feminist economics with respect to politics, theory, applications, and empirical methods.

We encourage submissions from scholars, practitioners, and activists engaged with feminist economics.

There is a lot of commonality in the commitments of feminist economics and Capabilities approach; recall the special issue of Feminist Economics co-edited by Ingrid Robeyns, Bina Agarwal and Jane Humphries. That was 2 decades ago and it's time another conversation between these two frameworks.
