Tsaunin Everest shine mafi tsawo daga cikin tsaunuka a duniya, yana da tsawon mita 8,849 (ƙafa 29,032) sama da matakin teku. Wannan tsauni yana cikin tsaunukan Himalaya, wanda ke kan iyakar ƙasar Nepal da Tibet (wani yanki na kasar China). A cikin harshen Tibet, tsaunin yana da suna "Chomolungma," wanda ke nufin "Uwar Duniya," yayin da a cikin Nepal suna kiransa "Sagarmatha," wanda ke nufin "Sama Mai Girma."[1][2]
