Kann jemand hier mal einen Blick drauf werfen:) Ich hab' mir ganz viel Mühe gegeben, keinen Fehler mehr zu machen:) Knutsch

In George W.Bush’s public, inaugural speech, he employs many rhetorical devises. In line 68 (...” Church, charity, synagogue and mosque lend”), Bush uses an enumeration to stress that in America dominate an equality in respect of the different religions. Every American belongs to America, regardless if he has for example a catholic or islamic religion.
In addition he employs a contrast in lines 63 and 64 (...” Americans in need are not strangers, they are citizens, not problems but priorities”) in order to show that he has a positive attitude towards the citizens, who have a social problems, for example. So he emphazises , that the society should help and respect the other fellow citizens. Furtermore he has the intention to connect the different social groups in one nation.( Can i say that?! One nation?) Bush uses repetitions, too. For example in lines 44 , 57 and 74 (...”America at its best”) This has the effect, that it acts implanting on the audience and that the people develop a feeling of national pride. By using an allusion in line 53 (...”in the world by history and by choice, shaping a balance of power that favors freedom”), he underlines the past of the American Dream with his ideals: Success, equality and freedom. At last Bush makes use of personal pronouns, like in lines 50 or 59 (...”we will”, “our”). With this pronouns he declares solidarity and shows his attitude to the future and the things, which should be changed.
