Switzerland is set to unveil its Eurovision 2024 artist this upcoming Thursday, 29 February, as announced on the latest episode of “Late Night Switzerland” on SRF 1.
During the segment on “Late Night Switzerland,” the host’s comments suggested that only the artist’s name will be disclosed during this initial reveal, indicating that the song with which the artist will compete is expected to be announced at a later date.
However, Yves Schifferle, Head of Delegation for Switzerland, confirmed on his Instagram story that the Swiss entry for Eurovision 2024 would also be revealed on Thursday. The song will be released at 11:00 CET and, according to Schifferle, the song is “not a ballad”.
More than 420 songs were submitted in to the Swiss selection, with five songs and artists being selected for live auditions in Zurich in December. The Swiss representative was selected by three juries: the Swiss audience jury, international audience juries and a 25-member international expert jury. The jurors are past Eurovision jurors.
At the 2023 contest, Switzerland was represented on the Eurovision stage by Remo Forrer. His ballad โWatergunโ qualified for the Grand Final, eventually finishing in 20th place after scoring 92 points overall.

Switzerland hosted the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956, a contest that they also won. Lys Assia won the first contest with the song โRefrainโ. It wasnโt until 1988 that Switzerland would win the contest again. At the contest in Dublin, it was Celine Dion with โNe partez pas sans moiโ who beat the United Kingdom to victory by just 1 point. In 2021 Switzerland finished 3rd with โTout lโuniversโ by Gjonโs Tears. This was Switzerlandโs first top three result since 1993.
