Speedy deletion declined: Young Blood EP

[edit]

Hello Vladsinger. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Young Blood EP, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A9 does not apply if the artist has an article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:57, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.

Best regards, SteviethemanDelivered: 01:11, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please help with usability testing

[edit]

Hello! The mw:Anti-Harassment Tools team is running a usability test to find out how and where IP addresses are used when patrolling wikis, particularly when patrolling RecentChanges. This could include New Pages or RecentChanges patrol. We want to see your patrolling process and get your views on some prototypes. Getting your perspective would be really helpful to us at this stage of the process. If you’d like to help, and have 30 minutes to spare, please fill out this Google form with your details: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfjYyRNGMkO4_TdNOgG4qmK9cp9YOKzM4GFO5pTd_bEcu23YQ/viewform

For the purpose of the tests we’ll be using Google Forms for recruitment, and UserTesting.com to conduct the actual tests. Please review the privacy statement and release form in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ijmwrIoNO0W1p_zfFU1LBf3_6mFF53kUUFy1L_DCUKc (Google docs link)

Please correct 57 bit canonical addresses image

[edit]

This image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64#/media/File:AMD64-canonical--56-bit.svg incorrectly shows that Intel 57 bit addressing goes from 0 to 0x007FFFFFFFFFFFFF and 0xFF80000000000000 to 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, when it actually goes from 0 to 0x00FFFFFFFFFFFFFF and 0xFF00000000000000 to 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Intel's 5 level paging doc says "A linear address is 48-bit canonical if bits 63:47 of the address are identical. Similarly, an address is 57-bit canonical if bits 63:56 of the address are identical." Bits 0 through bit 56 are part of the address, and then bits 57-63 are just sign extension of bit 56. So e.g. the lowest address with bits [63:56] set to 1 is 0xFF00000000000000.

As it turns out somebody had *already* created the 57 bit version here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:AMD64-canonical--57-bit.svg I went and changed both the caption and figure to 57 bits, and I trust that you are correct. vlad§inger tlk 01:23, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(Firstly, I am *not* a subject matter expert. All I did was copy an existing raster image by User:Richtom80 to a vector SVG format. That said, I believe *their* source is *this* Intel document [1]. Note Figure 2 which matches the addresses shown in this diagram, which is for a 56 bit implementation, not a 57 bit implementation. I changed the caption in the article to be 56 rather than 57 bits. Note also the file name for the image. I don't know enough about the subject to debate whether one or the other is more relevant to include. If you decide the 57 bit version is more important, it would be trivially simple to create a copy of the existing image for the 57 bit implementation you describe. . vlad§inger tlk 00:58, 20 May 2021 (UTC))[reply]

Notice

The article V24 (boat) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication this is a notable type of boat, and the company/designer doesn't have an article, so not suitable for a redirect.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 20:50, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
