DNA Relatedness among the Pathovar Strains of Pseudomonas syringae subsp. savastanoi Janse (1982) and Proposal of Pseudomonas savastanoi sp. nov. | Microbiology Society

Abstract

We found that subsp. strains belong to a DNA relatedness group that includes strains of pv. glycinea and pv. phaseolicola. This DNA group was distinct from pv. syringae (including the type strain of ). The results of a numerical analysis were in accord with DNA hybridization data. Thus, subsp. (Janse) 1982 is elevated to species level as sp. nov., which includes pv. savastanoi, pv. glycinea, and pv. phaseolicola.
