Abstract
A very unconventional and tiny theory (based on cellular automata) is used to describe the local and global aspects of change between social groups which are “competing”. By competition the authors mean that for each species the corresponding members are of mutual benefit whereas members of another species may cause problems for them. In formal terms (fixed-points of global transformations) conditions are derived under which the social groups tend to go to differentiated forms of stability, depending on the starting conditions. Regarding the extent to which the model abstracts from reality I want to list some questions, remarks, comments.
