Abstract
The need of a powerful tool for the management of large backbone networks is growing. Furthermore, new applications and user behavior require the ability to quickly adapt the network configuration to a dynamically changing environment. We present an architecture and an implementation of a bandwidth broker for DiffServ network management. The performance evaluation shows, that our implementation is able to serve as the central management station for a network containing several hundred nodes while still providing a short flow setup time. Further improvements of the current implementation are discussed, too.
