Abstract

In the context of rapid development and fierce market competition, organization problems are mostly “wicked problems” that cannot be clearly defined. To tackle these problems, we need new technological innovations, new cognitive attitudes, and new operating rules. Embedding design into an organization’s culture can help it better adapt to external changes and challenges, stimulate innovative thinking, and promote the integration and development of internal values, enabling the organization to maintain a competitive edge in contemporary society. This article reexamines the value of design within the specific organizational context of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering a new definition of its role and a specific framework for its function.
