Abstract
The increasing number of services drives small inefficiencies to intolerable levels. In order to cope with this challenge, it is useful to utilize a shared server instance. We propose a shared server instance approach with fair load balancing and minimizing overhead from multiple server instances. Our design is based on a novel approach to accommodate a whole set of services in an OS process on multiple server instances to manage statistical load utilization. The design empowers the dynamic management of computer resources in order to realize fairness among web services. We achieved 64% reduction of server instance costs.
