Why is my FCP Title showing only the warning sign?

newbie question, I admit. I'm trying to construct a simple text behavior as a FCP title. It appears to work in Motion but when I drag the title onto my timeline in FCP, I get a big red screen with the warning triangle and a big T (for text, I guess). Is there some simple export step I am messing up?

What are the versions of Motion and Final Cut Pro that you're using. If FCP is an older version than is compatible with Motion, it will show that warning triangle.

I am assuming that you created a Title project in Motion and Saved it from Motion to a Category and not a Motion Project (a.k.a. a "Composition") saved anywhere else on your system and you attempted to install it as a Title for Final Cut Pro... Saving a Title project directly from Motion will correctly install it for FCP.

What are the exact versions of both Motion and Final Cut Pro?

This could bd caused by a mismatch, more specifically when the version of Motion is too new relative to the version of FCP. In that case, the simplest solution is to update FCP. If you can’t, perhaps because you are in the middle of a project, there is a way around it, but first check if this is the case.
