Treg Taylor is the Alaska attorney general. He was appointed as acting attorney general by Gov. Mike Dunleavy (R) on January 29, 2021, following the resignation of Ed Sniffen.[1] Taylor was confirmed by the Alaska State Legislature 35-24 on May 11, 2021.[2]
Taylor was a 2016 nonpartisan candidate for District 6, Seat J of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly in Alaska. He was defeated in the general election that took place on April 5, 2016.
Biography
Prior to his appointment as Alaska attorney general, Taylor served as deputy attorney general in charge of the civil division at the Alaska Department of Law. He received a bachelor's degree in political science and a J.D. from Brigham Young University.[3]

John Weddleton defeated Treg Taylor and Mark Schimscheimer in the election for Seat J in District 6 of the Anchorage City Council.[4]
