I grew up in Webster City, Iowa, graduated high school in 1964, and entered the USAF at 17. I attended college and received a Political Science degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1973 and married my amazing wife Trish that same year. We moved to Olathe in 1977, had 2 kids, and have since retired with 32 years of service. I am passionate about serving the public and felt the need for better representation here in my community. This is what motivated me to run! I want to fight the rising cost of living, support public education, and increase access to affordable quality healthcare. I hope to earn the votes of the people in District 14, and represent them well in Topeka.

  • Protect Reproductive Rights and Increase Affordable Access to Quality Healthcare
  • Fight the Rising Cost of Living
  • Support Public Education

I am passionate about all of the key messages above. I have been around for a while now, and these issues are very similar to the issues when I first ran for office in Iowa, 50 years ago. I'm also concerned about the imbalance of power, and representation in our state. Let's get back to the 2 party system where there is equal representation.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Kansas

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
