Ann Gillespie is the acting Illinois Director of Insurance. She assumed office on April 15, 2024.

Gillespie (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Illinois State Senate to represent District 27. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Governor of Illinois J.B. Pritzker (D) appointed Gillespie as acting Illinois Director of Insurance on April 9, 2024, to replace Dana Popish Severinghaus (nonpartisan), pending Senate confirmation.[1]

Biography

Ann Gillespie grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois and lives in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She earned a B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. Gillespie's professional experience includes practicing law and consulting in the healthcare industry.[2]
