Samantha as a baby sent off to Earth in the pod.
The pod was used by the Children of Juru to send Reign away from the dying planet of Krypton.[1] 10 years later in 1989 when she crashed onto Earth, Patricia Arias discovered the pod and found the baby girl inside. Patricia decided to raise the infant as her own daughter, Samantha Arias. She stored the pod in a spare shed to keep Samantha's alien nature secret.
28 years later when Samantha demanded answers on her developing powers, Patricia revealed the pod, explaining her daughter's extraterrestrial origins. Samantha examined the pod, which caused it to turn on. A crystal beacon leading to the Fortress of Sanctuary then emerged from the ship, which Samantha took.[2]
