The problem is to find an assignment of the goals to the agents as well as the collision-free paths, and we are interested in finding the solution with the optimal makespan. A well-established approach to solve this problem is to reduce it to a special type of a graph search problem, i.e. to the problem of finding a maximum flow on an auxiliary graph induced by the input one. The size of the former graph may be very large and the search on it may become a bottleneck. To this end, we suggest a specific search algorithm that leverages the idea of exploring the search space not through considering separate search states but rather bulks of them simultaneously. That is, we implicitly compress, store and expand bulks of the search states as single states, which results in high reduction in runtime and memory. Empirically, the resultant AMAPF solver demonstrates superior performance compared to the state-of-the-art competitor and is able to solve all publicly available MAPF instances from the well-known MovingAI benchmark in less than 30 seconds.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1609\/aaai.v38i16.29676","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,3,25]],"date-time":"2024-03-25T11:54:16Z","timestamp":1711367656000},"page":"17291-17298","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Improved Anonymous Multi-Agent Path Finding Algorithm"],"prefix":"10.1609","volume":"38","author":[{"given":"Zain Alabedeen","family":"Ali","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Konstantin","family":"Yakovlev","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"9382","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2024,3,24]]},"container-title":["Proceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ojs.aaai.org\/index.php\/AAAI\/article\/download\/29676\/31156","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/ojs.aaai.org\/index.php\/AAAI\/article\/download\/29676\/31156","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2024,3,25]],"date-time":"2024-03-25T11:54:17Z","timestamp":1711367657000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ojs.aaai.org\/index.php\/AAAI\/article\/view\/29676"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2024,3,24]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"16","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2024,3,25]]}},"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1609\/aaai.v38i16.29676","relation":{},"ISSN":["2374-3468","2159-5399"],"issn-type":[{"value":"2374-3468","type":"electronic"},{"value":"2159-5399","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2024,3,24]]}}}
