Soulshape is an ability unlocked for members of the Night Fae Covenant. It changes the player's form into that of an animal, blinks them a distance forward, and temporarily increases their movement speed. Taking action other than blinking forward again while in Soulshape removes the buff and the transformation. Players can speak with Lady Muunn in Heart of the Forest to change the available soulshape look.
Crittershapes are smaller Soulshape forms that are activated when it is used in a rest area. Choofa by the Heart of the Forest handles the Crittershapes, having options to swap forms or even deactivate the Crittershape effect.
Since the arrival of the first mortal soul to Ardenweald, the Winter Queen has granted the boon of soulshaping to the souls who join her realm so that they may help tend to the forest even without a mortal body.[1][2] The soulshape a mortal takes mirrors the true bond they have with the wilds.[3] Soulshapes are capable of returning to their original forms, as seen with Huln Highmountain, who will transform in and out of his eagle soulshape as he sees fit. According to Ta'lora, night elf wisps are a type of soulshape.[4]
