Namesake and leader of the band, Paul Revere & the Raiders
Paul Revere Dick (better known as "Paul Revere") was born in 1938. He was a musician and comedian. He was the leader and namesake of the band, Paul Revere & the Raiders. [1] He developed the concept of combining music and humor. The band had a distinctive look as they dressed in Revolutionary War uniforms. Paul provided energetic comic relief and was known as the Madman of Rock and Roll.
In 1971, the band had its most successful hit - a cover of the song "Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian)". The single was certified platinum in 1996.
He died in 2014. The inscription on his headstone indicates - "The Last Madman of Rock n' Roll. He Came. He Rocked. He Left."
