Ellen (Darcy) Kelly was born in Ireland.

Ellen Darcy (married name Kelly) was born in 1842 at Borrisoleigh, Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland. She was the daughter of Denis Darcy and Catherine Gleeson.

Ellen Darcy married Patrick Thomas Kelly (1836-1919) in 1865 in Victoria, Australia. [1]

MRS. E. KELLY.
The death of Mrs. E. Kelly, of Ballarat-road, Creswick, removes another pioneer of that district from our midst. The deceased was born in Tipperary, Ireland, and arrived in Victoria in 1857—66 years ago. She married in 1865 and settled at Eganstown, subsequently removing to Kooroocheang, where she resided for 47 years. Two years ago she took up her residence in Creswick.
She leaves a family of four sons—Patrick (Brunswick), Denis (Geelong), William (Richmond), Tom (Creswick), and three daughters—Mrs. Feehan (Daylesford), Mrs. Heagney, sen. (Creswick), and Mrs. Haintz (Dean) — many grandchildren and great-grand-grandchildren.
Deceased was highly respected, and made many friends during her long connection with the Creswick district, and the family have deep sympathy of many friends in their bereavement and loss.
The funeral took place on Wednesday, the remains being interred in the Eganstown Cemetery, and the attendance was large. The Rev. Fr. N. Morrissey officiated at the graveside. R.I.P.[5]
