William Broadfoot was born on 14 February 1915 in Queensland, Australia. His parents were Walter Broadfoot and Essie Miller. ^{[1] [2]}

He was a coal miner who worked the fields in the Ipswich District, Queensland, Australia.

He married Vera Jane Campbell on 21 March 1936 in Queensland, Australia. ^[3]

A Roll of Honour notice for his brother Jock who was killed in action at El Alamein suggests that Bill and Vera had two children - Dallas and Barry.^[4]

The 1958 electoral roll shows that he lived with Vera and daughter Dallas at 50 Lusitania Street, Newtown. He was a deputy superintendent. ^[5]

William passed away on 24 July 1995 in Queensland, Australia, aged 80 years.

He was interred at Ipswich General Cemetery, Ipswich, Ipswich City, Queensland, Australia. ^[6]
