Biography
Dallas Elspeth Rose Broadfoot was born on 7 May 1938 in Queensland, Australia. Her father was a coal miner.
The 1958 electoral roll shows that Dallas was a clerk who lived at 50 Lusitania Street, Newtown with Vera Jane Broadfoot (home duties) and William Broadfoot (deputy superintendent).[1]
She married Bill Hayden in May 1960. At the time, he was a Queensland Police officer, but he soon left the police and was elected to Federal Parliament.
Michaela (~!961-1966) died at the age of five after being hit by a car.[3][4]
