Scientific Name: Evernia prunastri County of Origin: Yugoslavia Distillation Method: Solvent Extraction Plant Part Used: Dried lichen. Safety: Use with caution, due to uncertain toxicity. Avoid in pregnancy, individuals with epilepsy , on babies and children.
Oak Moss is primarily used for a fixative in perfumes and incense. It is often adulterated or strengthened with spruce, pine or fir moss oils. Tree Moss (E. furfuracea) is usually a combination of lichen and it can also be called Oak Moss.
