116th Street is a simple Lenox Avenue line station. The station has two side platforms and was renovated between 1998-1999. Fare control is along the side platforms in the middle and each area has the customary 2 staircases one up to either side of 116 Street and Lenox Avenue. The station still has terra cotta cartouches in the trim. Along the trim for the rest of the station are modern designs and backdrops for 116. All the name tablets are in a modern mosaic design.
