As of the end of 2023, there were approximately 142 thousand point of sale (POS) payment terminals located in Cyprus. This number has increased significantly over a ten-year period. Cash payments, however, dropped from 87.5 percent in 2011 to 70.3 percent in 2016 in Cyprus.
