This statistic shows the sales growth of department stores in Western Europe from 2012 to 2017. Over the given time frame, Spain was the only country which a saw a growth in sales in department stores, at 12.3 percent. In Germany, on the other hand, department store sales fell by 17 percent. The average for Western Europe (16 countries) was a decline of 4.6 percent.
