Over the period given, the revenue generated by Turkish Airlines followed an increasing trend with slight oscillations until the coronavirus pandemic. In 2020, the Turkish flag carrier lost half of its revenue compared to the pre-pandemic year, 2019. In the following years, the revenue generated rebounded again and reached roughly 21billion U.S. dollars, which exceeded even pre-pandemic revenues.
Being a member of Star Alliance
Since 2008, Turkish Airlines has been a member of Star Alliance, which aims to strengthen cooperation between the 26 member airlines at over 50 global hubs in order to provide a seamless link in the air transport network. Other important airline alliance members are Lufthansa, United Airlines, and Air Canada.

With the "Tomorrow on Board" vision, Turkish Airlines aims to adopt a sustainable approach to the company. In the year 2022, the company produced an estimated 23 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent. According to Turkish Airlines, the company is addressing climate change and achieving the targets set by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) through fleet modernization and the utilization of alternative fuels. In 2022, the Turkish flag carrier's fleet averaged 8.7 years old.
