Growth capital and venture capital change in Belgium 2008-2018

This statistic shows the percentage change on previous year of growth capital and venture capital in Belgium from 2008 to 2018. Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels Capital Region offer different kinds of investment aids, to assist Belgian or foreign businesses in the region. Many of these measures are aimed at starter businesses or self-employed. One example of this is the so-called Participation Fund (in Dutch: participatiefonds/in French: fonds de participation), a federal public institution offering different loans for both small and medium-sized companies and self-employed. As of 2018, growth capital and venture capital decreased by approximately five percent when compared to the previous year.
