The statistics depicts the results of a survey conducted in November 2017 about the awareness of electronic money services in Japan, broken down by major e-money service. In the period examined, the most known e-money service was the contactless smart card Suica with almost 87 percent of the respondents being aware of this service. The Suica card is a rechargeable fare card on train lines in Japan, but is now increasingly used as a form of electronic money.
