Mexico's solar PV energy generation capacity skyrocketed in recent years. In 2022, the installed capacity in the North American country was around nine gigawatts, an increase of nearly 10 percent in comparison to the previous year. In comparison to 2010, this capacity grew by more than 310-fold. In 2021, Mexico had the second largest solar PV capacity in Latin America, ranking only behind Brazil.
