Sales volume of energy drinks in Norway 2014-2023
The sales volume of energy drinks in Norway increased constantly in the years from 2014 to 2023. By the end of this period, approximately 73 million liters were sold in the country. Most popular were energy drinks containing sugar as the sales volume reached roughly 45 million liters. By comparison, it amounted to around 29 million liters of energy drinks containing sweetener.
Consumption of soft- and energy drinks per Norwegian
In 2018, the volume of soft drinks consumed per capita was 86.5 liters. In the same year, the amount of energy drinks consumed per person in the country was 5.8 liters. By comparison, bottled water had a consumption volume of 19.1 liters per Norwegian.
Soft drink sales
The soft drink sales volume in Norway generally decreased in the period from 2010 to 2019. But it peaked in 2021 at 593 million liters, and remained at about the same level in the following years. In 2023, most sold soft drinks were with sweetener, having a sales volume of roughly 368 million liters. It was followed by just over 191 million liters of soft drinks with sugar and about 0.5 million liters of soft drinks with fruit juice.
