Non-life insurance premiums to GDP ratio in Portugal 2005-2016
This statistic shows the non-life insurance penetration in Portugal from 2005 to 2016, measured as a non-life insurance premiums to GDP ratio. In 2016, the penetration reached a level of approximately 2.1 percent, including health premiums. This is a slight increase from the two percent reached in 2015. Since 2011, several assets of Portuguese insurers were privatized after the country requested an international bailout of 78 billion euros in 2011.
