Breweries' and beverage companies' sales volume of soft drinks in Finland 2013-2023
Over the period from 2013 to 2023, breweries' sales volume of soft drinks in Finland fluctuated, increasing overall. The domestic sales volume of soft drinks decreased from 2013 to 2016 but increased considerably thereafter. In 2023, Finnish breweries sold approximately 320.7 million liters of soft drinks, up by two percent from the previous year. The soft drink category includes soft drinks of various flavors, most notably cola, and citrus fruits.
Breweries' and beverage companies' domestic sales volume of mineral water increased rapidly
Finland is well known for its numerous lakes and sequences of ridges even several hundred kilometers long, which appear on an average every 10 to 20 kilometers. Those features build the perfect base for large groundwater resources. Over the past years, Finnish breweries' and beverage companies' sales volume of mineral water increased significantly. In 2023, the sales volume of mineral water reached 111.4 million liters, which was the highest figure in the shown period.
While the sales volume of mineral water increased every year over the past decade, the consumer price index (CPI) of mineral or spring water fluctuated around 133,55 and was measured at 133.92 in 2023, with the base year 2010 equaling 100.
Water exports and imports are declining
The import volume of water to Finland declined over the past ten years and the export of water shows a the same trend.
The volume of water exported from Finland decreased overall in recent years. In 2023, the value of exported water amounted to almost one thousand metric tons.
