Value of financial intermediation outside of banking sector in Switzerland 2010-2022
The value of total non-bank financial intermediation in Switzerland increased steadily between 2010 and 2022, despite a slight drop in 2022. Non-bank financial intermediation, also commonly known as market-based financing, is defined as credit intermediation involving activities and entities that fall outside of the regular banking system. As of 2022, non-bank financial intermediation in Switzerland reached a value of over 823 billion U.S. dollars.
