In 2023, the German aerospace industry generated around 46 billion euros in revenue. This was a noticeable increase compared to the year before. Generally, the revenue generated in the German aerospace industry has increased significantly since 1995, and is more than five times as high in 2023 as it was in 1995. After the coronavirus-related declines in 2020 and 2021, revenue has recovered and even exceeded the pre-pandemic numbers in 2023. Reasons for the increased revenue in the aviation industry are high ticket prices and high demand for seats in business and first class.

The source states that from 1997 on, the revenue included estimates of aerospace companies which weren't organized in the BDLI. BDLI stands for the Association of the German Aerospace Industry (Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie e.V.). Figures before 2018 were retrieved from earlier publications.
