Change of public service fee in Sweden
Since January 2019, the Swedish public television broadcasters Sveriges Television, the Swedish Educational Broadcasting Corporation, as well as the public radio broadcaster Sveriges Radio AB have been funded by an individual fee that is charged through taxes. Before, the population in Sweden had to pay an annual TV and radio license fee, similar to some other European countries. In the preceding ten years, the fee increased, reaching 2,400 Swedish kronor per household as of 2018.
