The value of all European Central Bank (ECB) open market operations decreased overall during the period from January 2018 to May 2024, despite significant fluctuations. Between 2020 and 2021, the value increased significantly, reaching its peak in August 2021 at 2.21 trillion euros. Towards the end of 2022 and in 2023, the value of open market operations decreased notably. As of May 2024, it was approximately 152 billion euros, marking the lowest value during this period.
