According to a World Health Organization (WHO) study published in June 2024, the prevalence of insufficient physical activity in Latin America and the Caribbean was higher among women than men. In 2022, an estimate of 41 percent of women in the region did not meet the recommended weekly amount of physical exercise for adults. This percentage was at around 32 percent among men.

Insufficient physical activity defined as less than 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity, 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity, or an equivalent combination per week.
