In 2020, the amount of battery material available for recycling worldwide was estimated at 200 kilotons. This figure is expected to increase seven-fold by 2030, as batteries in the market reach the end of their lifetime and demand for new batteries increases. By 2040, it is forecast that over seven million tons of battery material will be available for recycling.
