Parallel import value in Russia 2022-2023
The value of parallel imports in Russia was estimated at 70 billion U.S. dollars from mid-June 2022 to the end of 2023.
From March 2022, the Russian government legalized parallel imports in response to the Western sanctions over the invasion of Ukraine. In August of the same year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia extended the list of products allowed for parallel import, to include auto goods, radio-electronic products, photographic equipment, and cosmetic brands.
