From 2022 to mid 2023, Latin American smartphone users researched products relied predominantly on retailer's online properties apps before making purchasing decisions. According to a survey conducted in thirteen countries across the region, over 44 percent of respondents said they consulted these sources to find information about a product before buying it online. Furthermore, 40.6 percent of mobile users researched items on social media, while another 11.6 percent used consulted influencer accountes. Meanwhile, 31 percent used popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing, decreasing from a rate of 35 percent of respondents in January 2023.

The survey included the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuardor, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay.
