Coffee imports to the U.S.
The U.S. is the leading importer of coffee worldwide. More than round 8.2 billion U.S. dollars’ worth of coffee are imported annually. Germany’s coffee imports, which are second highest in the world, are less than half the value, as compared to the U.S.’s coffee imports. The majority of coffee imports to the U.S. come from Brazil and Colombia. Approximately half of the total U.S. coffee imports come from the two South American countries. It is no surprise that the U.S. is the largest importer, as the revenue of the U.S. coffee market amounts to almost 85 billion U.S. dollars. This is significantly more than the value of the second and third-largest coffee markets, Japan and Brazil, combined.
